Black & Grey

A couple of my newest things. Sandie just came back from Korea and brought me my faves! I LOVE stationary, little organizers & most of all, super fine point pens. 0.3mm! She also brought me back a cream/nude linen scarf that I forgot to take a picture of. The gray shirt is something I've been needing desperately--a plain, comfortable (super soft!) basic, & this one is by William Rast. Super steal from Loehmann's :). & lastly, THESE BOOTS! I am absolutely in love with these. I've needed a pair of classic black boots and I found these at Nordstrom's a couple of weeks ago. They didn't have my size so I had to order them and wait anxiously for about two weeks. And they finally came! They're super sturdy yet soft leather on the outside and really comfortable on the inside. Now I just have to wait for Fall so I can finally wear them!

Sugar Rush

It's official--I have turned into a grandma. First, my herb garden, and now my newfound-love for baking. I spent all of yesterday finding ingredients, buying new bake-ware, and trying out new recipes for brownies and lemon bars from scratch. Both turned out surprisingly well! I was happy that the brownie recipe came with a frosting as well- exactly what these brownies needed. Can't wait to try out new recipes!

Eau So Fresh

Jess and I picked up the new Daisy the other day and I finally got a picture of it. Eau So Fresh has a similar scent to the older Daisy, but much less musky, which is GREAT because I would always get a headache from Jessica's old Daisy. Finally a fragrance by Marc Jacobs that I like!

Sunny days in Laguna

Today's weather went from gloomy and chilly in the morning to hot and sunny in the afternoon. I had dressed according to the chilliness in the morning and I didn't have time to change after class, which resulted in me baking in the beachy sun. Regardless, the beach was lovely and I was still happy to be there. I think I've only gone to the beach two times this summer...horrible! We had a homemade picnic on the sand of pasta salad with roma tomatoes, mozzarella, pepperoni & balsamic vinaigrette, with thumbprint cookies, fresh peaches and green tea ginger ale. Everything was delicious! We went to dip our feet in the water and came back to find a seagull viciously attempting to open our sealed boxes of cookies and pasta. Luckily, it failed and flew away as we were walking back haha.

P.S. The water at Laguna is actually not this blue. It's more of a greenish-brown... But iPhoto can work wonders :)

Getaways

I've been a bit dead since I've come back from Vegas on Saturday, but wanted to post a few pictures of our trip. We stayed at Caesar's Palace which was great because all we had to do was walk downstairs to go shopping during out down-time. I found a gold bangle I fell in love with at the Marc Jacobs store and had to get it. (You'll see a million pictures of MJ coming up soon.) Our 2-day trip was filled with LOTS of food, shopping, & clubbing at Tryst. The latter was definitely an experience.. I've come to accept that clubbing just isn't my thing haha. But anyways, we had dinner our first night at Hikari Sushi located a little off the strip, and brunch the next day at Serendipity. Both were super yummy!

Rainy days in mind

All-you-can-eat Korean bbq probably wasn't the best idea two days before our Vegas trip, but of course I would do it anyway...sigh. Spent the day eating and walking off our fatness by shopping. Picked up two of the most adorable Moschino umbrellas and a William Rast fitted blazer which I love. I actually just found the blazer in ivory online as well, here. Retail $275?! What would I do without Loehmann's. I ended up paying only a fraction of what it's selling now!

Marc Jacobs loafers that are sooooo adorable! & made with the softest leather. Major want

PS I apologize for the poor camera quality. I'm almost always too lazy to find the DSLR so I settle w/my phone instead-

Good Eats & Randoms

Taiwanese hot pot @ Ah Lien Hot Pot

Milk w/pudding & boba. PACKED with sugar and sprinkled with more brown sugar. So good.

Pinkberry craving satisfied. Plain tart w/ strawberries, mochi, waffle cone & almonds. My fave!

Homemade- fresh mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, & balsamic reduction. Didn't have basil so I used parsley instead. ..Not a good substitute :(

My herb garden is blossoming!! So far Basil, Chives, Thyme, and Parsley are coming along really well. Rosemary only has one bud so far.. but still coming along!

Ice blended mocha @ Milk + Honey

Homemade-spinach, ham, sliced cherry tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, goat cheese, mayo, salt & pepper, & red pepper flakes between buttermilk bread

LA Days

We went to visit my older sister in LA today and had a long catch up day. I was still wired off of the decaf java chip frap from the day before...decaf! I slept a total of four hours... unbelievable. We had lunch at Dog Haus in Pasadena then went to the Americana to walk it off. Had more cupcakes from Crumbs Bakery & went apartment-shopping for my sister and her fiance. The store front apartments are GORGEOUS! One day.... We then visited Griffith Observatory. Weren't planning on it, but it happened to be on our route so we stopped by. It's beautiful! You can see the Hollywood sign on one side, the entire LA city on the other. We went during the day but I'm sure it'd be even more gorgeous at nighttime. Headed back to downtown for a couple hours of relaxation--fruit snacks, Tangled, and a long, much-needed nap, then went to a mom & pop Italian restaurant, Alejo's. Super hole-in-the-wall, pretty ghetto from the outside, but once we stepped inside the little store it was PACKED. We had to wait around 15-20 min and I can totally see why. The food was freshly prepared & delicious. They even served us all garlic toast as we were waiting for our table!

The Cowboy

Sooo Cali. The BEST hot dog I have EVER had.

Caramel apple & Very berry

Freshly squeezed strawberry lemonade. We literally watched him juicing the lemons haha. Super refreshing and delicious!

Thrifted crochet/knit top, MJ watch, DVF jellies

Linguini w/ clams

Linguine ala mare

Freshly baked pizza- veal, roasted peppers & pepper flakes
