Taiwan Travels, just the beginning.

Where it all started.  Just one of my very stuffed suitcases.

Ketchup & Cinnamon on their very first overseas trip.

Killing time--3 hours before our flight.  Panda & Kindles saved us

Gorgeous view from the top

The shuttle car from the airport.  Manual Volkswagen MINIVAN! Never before seen by my eyes.

Only an hour back and already stocking up on provisions at 1am.  A collective unit from FamilyMart, 7-Eleven, & MOS Burger.  This city never sleeps o.o

MOS Burger's sliced pork with rice patty buns!

Breakfast downstairs.

Day 1: Tourist time, @ Beitou hot spring museum.  We had to take our shoes off and change into slippers before entering, and then the slippers off again before entering the tatami-style room.

Old-school Taiwanese movies

Spa/bath tub with direct hot spring water from the pipes, used back in the day.

Newlywed photoshoot outside!  It's no wonder why'd they choose this place to shoot.

First-world anarchists invading TW.

Public bath-house from back in the day.  Drained to preserve as a historic timepiece.

Beitou's public library.  So modern!

Where it starts to get interesting. Revolving sushi! $1 per each delicious plate :D

The personal self-serve hot water spout at the sushi bar for your tea.

Seared caramelized salmon sushi!

What you can find at your local 7-Eleven. Marinated fish balls, tempura sticks, etc.

Our soon-to-be daily healthy yogurt drink.  This supposedly helps you lose weight, which will be absolutely necessary for our future food conquests in Taiwan.

Jeff's aunt's tatami-style apartment! Shoes off.

Removable floor panel for direct hot-spring water to soak your feet in.

Tatami beds

Mercedes reaches an all-time awesomeness level when in places like Taiwan.

Revolving sushi bar in Takashimaya, Taipei.

More traditional Japanese-style sushi.

Taiwanese oyster pancake in the Takashimaya food court.  The ones in America can't compare!

My first, but definitely not last, time at Mister Donut.  The most adorable donuts I have ever laid eyes on.

Their donut texture is chewier, somewhat similar to mochi bread.  It's...amazing...
Paired with unsweetened wheat tea & apple green tea.

Taipei city life. It's a zoo down here!

Cute subway station art.  Everything's cuter in Asia.

Muji in Sogo, Taipei.  They basically have everything you need here if you want to be a tumblr-inspired hipster.  Super modern and minimalistic!

All you can eat Japanese BBQ and hot pot in Taipei

Delicious sliced beef and pork belly.  + first time trying beef tongue...delicious!

Self-serve yogurt slush

Breakfast day 2.  Fish filet MOS burger, croquette, Yoshinoya beef & egg bowl, tuna and egg sandwich, orange juice, healthy yogurt drinks, & cream puffs.  It's truly amazing how we are not 400 pounds each...yet.

Sliced duck

Crispy pork

Broiled fish with green onion

Delicious shrimp noodles that I've never had before.

Freshly made bread rolls that you can unwind

Won this little seal after two tries on the claw!  Each try was $10NT so we ended up spending $20NT total, which equates to around 75cents USD.  That's about $19.25 less than Round 1 in Rowland Heights!! Super win.  I'll be back tomorrow to win more seals >:D

Went to the head of the MRT.  Just like riding a roller coaster!

Miramar shopping center.  Jet lag hit, so we had to raincheck the giant Ferris Wheel of Taiwan for later.

Sushi express!! Individually wrapped sushi to take on the go.  Too good to be true! Each piece is anywhere from $10NT to $35NT.  (30 cents to a little over $1 US)

Inside my newly found favorite restaurant, MOS Burger.

Individually glass-bottled milk.  So adorable!

Our 4am dinner? lunch?  at 1pm California time.  Don't think we're doing too well on adjusting our jet lag.
Sliced pork burger with rice patty buns, signature hamburger, chicken nuggets, & grapefruit teas.

The toys they give you at local 7-Elevens & FamilyMarts for frequent buyer stamps.  Handheld Doraemon fans!
