Strictly food related.

One of my favorite drink places here in Taiwan.  Mixed fruit (passion fruit, mango, peach, etc.) tea & cream topped black tea.

I love their yi mien!! $25NT for a bowl of delicious dry noodles with some kind of magic sauce.  I know this picture is not very appetizing but you're gonna have to trust me on this one.

Dinner with Aunt Shu and Uncle Edward at Shin Yeh.

Shin Yeh's signature dish of pig intestine or stomach.  Not my cup of tea.

Also famous for their egg and turnip cake.  Crispy on the outside and fluffy egg on the inside.

A mountain of fried oysters.

Crispy pineapple shrimp with mayo & lychee.

Fried chicken roll.  It's actually pieces of pork and vegetable wrapped in soy paper and deep fried.  Typical Taiwanese cuisine.

Some kind of chicken.  My least favorite kind!! Sauce-less :(

At Bee Cheng Hiang across the street.  They're famous in Taiwan and I'm guessing worldwide for their pork jerky and other dried meats.

Spicy pork.

At the pretty Qsquare mall!  Didn't realize we arrived about 20 minutes prior to closing, however. :( More exploration will be ensued next time.

Makeup vending machines.

Mixed berry frutta from Momi & Toy's Creperie.  Berry infused tea with blueberries, strawberries, and cranberries suspended above the ice.  Delicious and pretty!

A closeup of the different berries.

Stopped by Awfully Chocolate right before closing time.  They used to only allow preorders of cakes but now they're selling individually!  Very cute presentation.

Frosted chocolate cupcakes for a little over $5US.

A slice of their giant chocolate sheet cake!

A mixture of breakfast and lunch due to oversleeping.  There are actually four burgers here (one's hiding in the back)--sliced duck burger, fish filet, signature cheeseburger, sliced pork with rice patty buns, and an order of chicken nuggets alongside of cranberry lemonade and ice cream red tea.  Every day is a feast here.

Cute bear cakes in the food court at Dayeh Takashimaya.

Freshly made takoyaki with orange green tea on our break from shopping.  Right before dinner.

Just a picture to document our matching Hudson jeans.  This is how dressed up we (and the rest of the population in Taipei) were on Halloween.  :(

Din Tai Fung again!  With Aunts Felicia, Michelle and Ella.  Side dishes first--green beans with minced meat, braised tofu, garlic infused cucumbers, and a dish of sliced seaweed, bean sprouts, and tofu.

Words cannot explain how much I love this dish.  Wontons with shrimp filling in a spicy soy-sauce based sauce.  Topped with my fave--green onions.

Exactly the same as the former except this one has a vegetable and meat filling instead.

First time trying Mah Jong mien.  Similar to Dan Dan noodles with a sesame sauce base.  The only difference I was able to discern was the lack of spiciness in this one.  Either way, any type of dry noodle is the way to my heart so I thoroughly enjoyed this.

Potstickers fried on one side.  Very crispy!

Little packages of sticky rice wrapped in dumpling paper.

Red bean dumplings for dessert.  Looked exactly the same as the taro dumplings we also got.

Giant sesame buns.  Fluffy shell packed with ground black sesame inside.

First time trying Milkhouses even though it's right by the house.  Egg tart--sweet custard inside of a baked pastry shell.

Snacks while watching TV after a long day. Mushroom popcorn (something I have only seen here in Taiwan), egg tart, and fruit & carrot juice.

At the hospital food court (Jeff got sick :( ).  Pretty delicious food for a hospital!  Actually just good in general.  Little plates of sweet and sour fish, pork, eggplant, tofu, egg and tomato, and veggies.

Dinner at the dim sum restaurant literally two steps away from the house.  You go down the elevator, exit the front door, walk two steps to the left, and you're there!  Chashu pork pastries above.  Very flaky and delicious.

Jeffy's favorite pineapple shrimp.  Also to be found two other times in this post.

Fried turnip cake.  Reminds me of my grandma!

Yi mien again :D.  Dry noodles with green onion and mushrooms.

Shao mai.

Shrimp dumplings.

Meat wrapped in a glutinous paper.  A typical dim sum dish.

At a fancy Taiwanese-style massage in Dongqu!  Thank you Aunt Felicia & Uncle Joe :)

Yet another first world anarchist! Smoking in the elevator.

Visited the top of Beitou after our massages.  A view of the whole city.  It was around 12am at this point but there were still people up and working at this resort.  Bought coffee & tea eggs and explored the veranda.

DIY ice cream cone.  Must try in the near future.

Breakfast sandwich.  Tuna and egg salad with a poached egg in the center.  I love how the eggs here are orange!

Tuna cheese melt.

With added egg salad.

Back at Shin Yeh due to oyster pancake cravings.  Theirs is the best I've had in Taiwan thus far.  Crispier and less gooey than the usual, with added pieces of ground meat and green onion.

Fatty braised pork.

Cabbage and clam pot.

Pineapple shrimp yet again!

Mini asian burritos filled with meat, beansprouts (x_x), and tofu.

Crispy fried pork.

Not entirely sure what kind of fish this was but it was amazing!  Soft and flakey with no fishy taste.

I'm usually not a fan of almond pudding but they said Shin Yeh's is different from other places and one of their faves so I tried.  And it was delicious!!! Completely different from the almond pudding I'm accustomed to having back in the states.  It was chewier and the almond flavor wasn't a punch in the tastebuds like it usually is.
